Glad to see this. My sister-in-law made my Korra costume largely as a joke (because I look so much like Korra in spite of being a guy) and it was very authentic, but the boots were modified factory made to save time. She’s been threatening to make real boots based off a Mecalero Apache moccasin design, since she’s an expert Apache costumer. Your beaded armband is also tempting, but a lot of work for a costume I don’t expect to wear more often than I can help.
My kid has since joined in with her ‘Young Korra’ cosplay, although she’s a bit put out that she’s too old for the character. She looks and sounds just like a younger version of Iris from Pokemon.
don't worry, the rest of percent it only because, don't exist the animals with wich those boots are made ( seal mix tortoise or any thing) In my opinion the boots are perfect for any artist if need a reference
they look pretty legit. what annoys me a lot when i see cosplays, the costumes look REALLY fake -__- like they were bought at party city for halloween or something, but these actually look good enough to wear as korra AND/OR with any regular outfit nice.
Thank you. Yeah, I've stared trying make my stuff look more authintic when I can (sometime it's cost prohibitive). The best part is they are super comfy. I felt like I was running around in pj's and house slippers the whole time I was in costume.
Man, those boots are gorgeous... They work so, so nicely. *_* You make such an amazing Korra!
I am curious though...did you have a tutorial to learn how to make boots? I've been aiming to cosplay Korra myself and I reeeally want to avoid the usual Uggs... I assume you ripped apart some flats you found comfortable and worked over them?
I'd really appreciate any help! Though I don't want to be a bother either~
I'd love to help! Yeah, I used the flats as a pattern. I've had another person asking about them too. What I'm going to do is take this pattern and put it on grid paper and post it up for everyone to use. It will be for a size 8-9 so you may have to alter it but I think the grid paper with help everyone get an idea of shape. May take a few days.
